What should future spouses do if they follow different legal schools (madhab)?

If the future spouses follow the commandments of two different legal schools, how does Islam say this situation should be resolved?
The answer to this question is simple.
The spouses are entirely free to decide what works best for them. |
Islam recommends ease in all things and a Muslim’s choice of Sunni legal school is one example of this (Quran 2:185).
They can each decide to keep their practice from their respective schools.
They can decide together to adopt the school of one of the spouses.
Lastly, they can both opt to follow a new school of their choice.
It all depends on different factors such as, for example, the couple’s habits, their preferences and the country in which they live.
The spouses have complete freedom in this area and may choose what works best for them.
